The Great Harvest which was held simultaneously in East Jakarta on Tuesday (3/29) yielded 2.7 tons of vegetables and 563 kilograms of fish. It was directly led by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan at East Jakarta Mayor Office's greenhouse.

Accompanied by TP PKK Chairperson Ferry Farhati, East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anies, East Jakarta TP PKK Chairperson Diah Anwar, and other related officials, the governor harvested Bok Choy and other vegetables planted at Mayor Office's greenhouse.

The simultaneous Great Harvest which was broadcast live through East Jakarta PKK Youtube was attended by 959 participants in 100 locations across 10 sub-districts in East Jakarta. He also briefly greeted TP PKK cadres, RPTRA administrators, urb an village, and sub-district officials who took part in this event online.

East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar stated some harvested plants were sold to traders, especially fish traders. Then the remaining were distributed to residents, RPTRA administrators, TP PKK, and others.

"We also distribute fish and vegetables to malnourished children," he explained.

As for the information, the urban farming program is a part of a reforestation program that aims to educate people to grow crops in their environment to realize food security and improve people's economy.
